For many years Alpha Beta has actively been involved in serving its community both locally and nationally. This has taken several forms including fundraising to support schools, libraries and orphanages in less privileged areas. Students of Alpha Beta have also been involved in clean up campaigns and exchange programs that benefit children from schools in rural areas. In 2011, the Alpha Beta Charitable Trust was set up in line with our social responsibility commitment. The school board deemed it of great importance that a registered charitable trust be set up in order to achieve the following aims: • To raise funds to facilitate planned community projects • To get students, staff and parents at Alpha Beta more actively involved in the planning and execution of community projects (This fulfils our vision to make our students part of the solution to our nations developmental challenges). • To raise social awareness about difficulties faced by people in deprived communities both locally and nationally.

Alpha Beta Education Centre is a socially responsible corporate body which looks for ways of impacting the local community in which the school is situated, by undertaking projects and services that will improve the lives of others in the society, especially the less privileged. Over the years, Alpha Beta has both individually and in partnership with other socially responsible organizations, assisted in putting smiles on the faces of needy children. Some of the recent projects we have undertaken to make a difference in our local community, and further fields are: • Acquisition of a Mobile Library Vehicle to serve children in the local community who do not have access to good reading books • Building and operation of 2 community libraries in Gyakiti (Eastern Region) and the Zongo community in Dansoman • Fundraising support for the MAHLEF Foundation in Tema New Town who provide support and education to teenage mothers and their children. • Donation of text books and stationery to the Dansoman 1 & 2 Public School • Donation of teaching and learning materials to the Young Offenders Correctional Facility • Building of a refuse enclosure at the Princess Marie Louise Hospital in Accra • Support for Countryside Orphanage at Bawjuase in the Central Region
